Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SEGGER
Dear TI E2E Support Team,
I am currently supporting a customer who is developing an industrial communication system based on the AM6442. We have several technical inquiries regarding the feasibility and support for implementing multiple industrial protocols and security features. Kindly review the following questions and provide guidance:
-
Simultaneous Use of Multiple Industrial Communication Protocols (EtherCAT, PROFINET, CC-Link):
- Is it possible to implement and operate more than two protocols (e.g., EtherCAT, PROFINET, CC-Link) simultaneously on the AM6442, including both Master and Slave configurations?
- Given that the hardware has only two PRU-ICSSG Ethernet ports, is it technically feasible to run three or more protocols concurrently through software scheduling or virtualization?
-
Cybersecurity Features:
- While Secure Boot is supported, are there additional cybersecurity features (e.g., secure key storage, secure firmware update, runtime integrity checks) provided by TI for AM6442?
- Similar to NXP’s HSE firmware (freely provided), does TI offer any equivalent HSM/HSE firmware for AM64x series free of charge?
-
Industrial Protocol Master Stack Availability:
- While Slave stacks are available via TI SDK, Master stacks (e.g., EtherCAT Master, PROFINET Master) appear to be provided by third-party vendors.
- Could you kindly recommend or introduce authorized local distributors or partners in Korea for purchasing these Master stacks?
-
Software Roadmap:
- Is there a publicly available software roadmap for the AM64x series, particularly regarding industrial protocol support and future SDK updates?
-
Debugger Support:
- Can both A-Core and M-Core of AM64x be debugged using SEGGER J-Link?
- If supported, could you provide a list of other compatible debuggers besides those officially listed on the TI website (e.g., Lauterbach T32, etc.)?
We appreciate your support and look forward to your guidance to ensure a successful implementation.
Best regards,
Jack Cha
