AM62A3-Q1: Compatibility Inquiry: ISSI IS46LQ32256AL & IS22EF08G-JCLA2 with TI Sitara AM62A34A

Does the ISSI memory part IS46LQ32256AL-062BLA2 and the ISSI flash part IS22EF08G-JCLA2 support the TI Sitara AM62A34A processor? Specifically, is the LPDDR4X DRAM and the Serial NOR Flash compatible and validated for use with the AM62A34A? Any references to TI documentation, reference designs, or user experiences would be very helpful

    AM62Ax does not support LPDDR4x, it only supports LPDDR4 and DDR4.  

     IS22EF08G-JCLA2 looks to be an eMMC, not a serial NOR flash.  Although AM62A does support serial NOR using the OSPI interface.

    I am working on a hardware design using the TI Sitara AM62A34A processor and need some clarification on memory compatibility.

    ISSI has suggested the memory parts IS46LQ32256AL-062BLA2 and IS22EF08G-JCLA2 for use with AM62A.From your suggestion that IS46LQ32256AL-062BLA2 is an LPDDR4X DRAM, but TI AM62A supports only LPDDR4 and DDR4 (not LPDDR4X).

    The IS22EF08G-JCLA2 is an eMMC device according to datasheets, not a serial NOR flash as mentioned in some places.

    I want to confirm whether these ISSI parts are truly compatible and supported by the TI AM62A34A processor. Has anyone worked with these specific ISSI memory parts on AM62A or similar Sitara processors? Are there any reference designs, official validations, or recommended alternatives?

    I briefly looked over the DDR data sheet, and it appears it is compatible.  Note that the device is only capable of 3200MT/s, but some AM62A speed grades support up to 3733MT/s.  Check the speed grade of the device to ensure you are meeting the performance you need.  The eMMC device also looks compatible, but ultimately it is up to the customer to ensure full compatibility based on their use case.  It may be a good idea to use one of our EVMs and replace the devices that you want to use.  This will at least give you good confidence that you can get the device working.
