Do All 6748 chips support secure AIS boot?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6748, OMAP-L138, OMAP-L132

Here is my chip info:

TMX320c6748ZWT

It seemed that It can not support secure AIS boot.

I 'm using SPI_MASTER boot mode, I checked spi_flash's clock pin. after about 6 bytes reading, bootloader has halted.

  • In that security Boot package, I can only found a exe file, which name is "SecureHexAIS_L138",

It should have a file looks like "SecureHexAIS_c6748", isn't it?

  • Hello,

For TI, the TMX prefix stands for first batch (pre-release) processor chips.

Only TMS320C6748 chips with a "E" suffix like TMS320C6748BZWTD4E support secure boot (see OMAP-L1x Processor Security User’s Guide SPRUGQ9).

  • As Jakez stated, secure parts have their own distinct part number, so no not every C6748 part is a secure part.  Regarding the tool name, as the OMAP-L138 part is the "super-set" part among this family of devices, it is common for TI to use the OMAP-L138 name even when the tool will work for the ARM-only (AM18xx), DSP-only (C6748/6/2) and ARM+DSP (OMAP-L138/OMAP-L132) parts.
