AM625: I2C mapping

Part Number: AM625

We are usinhg AM6254 in our HMI design. Follwoing is the I2C mapping for the various Peripheral devices. Please let us know if this is fine, also kindly comment if PMIC I2C is required to be connected to Wake up domain I2C along with RTC.

What is the PMIC part number planned?

Are there any of the peripherals that will operate at speed higher than 400 kHz?

Hi Prema,

I know that usually TPS6521908 is on Main I2C0. I don't know if it is a requirement though. I will have to check internally.

Also note that speeds over 400 kHz are not supported on Main I2Cs and Main I2C buffers are not fully I2C compliant. See 6.8.6 LVCMOS Electrical Characteristics in the datasheet for main I2C buffer's characteristics.

Hi Prema,

In case the plan is to use TI provided software, connect the recommended processor I2C interface to the PMIC, as I2C0 is the interface used for PMIC control.

MCU_I2C0 and WKUP_I2C0 are open drain output type I2C interfaces.

An RC is recommended to limit slew rate in case the interfaced is pulled to 3.3V

Refer electrical characteristics section of the SOC data sheet.

Also note the exceptions for the Emulated open drain output type I2C interface. A series resistor is recommended to control the fall time.
