Hi,
Is there a register that can be written to directly to trigger a cold reset?
Thank you,
Jin
Hi Jin,
Let me look into this deeper.
You are asking specifically for cold reset, not warm reset correct?
Additionally, what is the use case for this?
Thanks,
Neehar
Hi Neehar,
Yes, cold reset, although we would be interested in all possible reset options.
Regarding use case, we want to implement a workaround for an ongoing bug to directly reset the device from a Linux application without going through the reboot sequence.
Hi Jin,
The other reset option is warm reset which can be done in software using various methods. Are you using Linux or RTOS?

What do you mean by reboot sequence? A cold reset would still follow the SPL or SBL boot flow.
I will check with the power team as triggering a cold reset in software would likely require writing to a PMIC register rather than an SoC register.
Thanks,
Neehar
Hi Neehar, yes - is there any update regarding direct cold reset?
Thank you
Jin
