AM625: Regarding OLDI display

Part Number: AM625

HI

We are using AM6254 in our HMI design. We are interfacing display NHD-10.1-1024600BF-LSXP-CTP to interace with AM6254. We have connected 4 pairs of data and 1 clock pair in the OLDI interface. Please let us know if this is fine, also if yes whether clk0 maps to the first 4 pairs of data? I have attached the schematics.please let us know if any concerns in this schematics.OLDI_Int.pdf

  • Hello Prema R,

Thank you for your query !

In the AM625 DS table Pin Attirbutes I have highlighted the AM625 pins to connect the NHD-10.1 display 4 data lanes and clock lane to.

If not used, the SoC OLDI0_A4N, OLDI0_A4P through the OLDI0_A7N,OLDI0_A7P  and the  OLDI0_CLK1N, OLDI0_CLK1P pin pairs can be left unconnected. Your display will operate in a single link mode. If you attach a second 4 data lane -  display, to the remaining AM625 OLDI0 pins it will operate in a mirror mode (can not display an independent frame buffer).

There are also other pins to connect from your display to the AM625 board (the config. I2C0, reset, INTn, VDDA_1P8, etc.).

You may wish to refer to the following FAQ on OLDI interface capabilities

Please expect a follow-up from the schematic review early next week.

    Thanks

    Kind Regards,

    Anastas Yordanov

  • Thanks Anastas, awaiting for your further review comments

  • Hi Prema,

I suppose you followed some of the existing AM62 EVM schematic solutions for the OLDI hardware interface + (other TI docs / FAQs like above one) for external protection and other components.

Please allow us some time to internally review the schematic.

    Thank you !

    Kind Regards,

    Anastas Yordanov

  • Hello Prema,

The thread has been assigned to me and i am looking into the OLDI interface and connections.

If you can share a searchable PDF, the review can be efficient and i can add my comments.

If the query is only on the mapping of OLDI signal on the SOC side, the mapping looks fine.

    Regards,

    Sreenivasa
