AM623: [BOOT] Failed to boot from UART

Hi,

We are trying to load the U-boot tiboot3.bin file from UART via Teraterm. When we trying to load it the first image, the loading completing but its not loading binary. Again the board is keep on dumping CCCCC data only.

Hi,

Please follow the steps in this guide -https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux/esd/AM62X/11_01_05_03/exports/docs/linux/Foundational_Components/U-Boot/UG-UART.html#uart

Run picocom on one terminal to monitor the boot logs (starting with CCCC) and on another terminal send the boot commands one by one as soon as the board shows “Trying to boot from UART” - otherwise it will timeout. Point the commands to the boot images in SDK board-support/prebuilt-images/am62xx-evm. Make sure lrzsz is installed.

Hi Johnson,

I just followed the procedure mentioned above. The initial tiboot3.bin is loaded successfully. But the prints are not coming in the picocom.

We waited for a minute. Still nothing comes up in the picocom console. Please give your inputs on the same

Are you using the prebuilt tiboot3.bin from the SDK? If not, could you try using it and check whether you get any logs?

Also, please provide the build logs for the U-Boot binaries if they were built for your custom board.

Yes we are using custom board build and below is build log:

7573.build-uboot.log

I will check with prebuilt tiboot3.bin from the SDK and will update you

Hi Muhammadh,

Can you please try the same procedure on the AM62x SK EVM with the SDK prebuilt tiboot3.bin binary to see if the console prints the tiboot3.bin running log message? I'd like to check if your procedure is correct.
