Hi again.
Again, I am probably displaying my ignorance of the Unix environment by this question, but please be patient. I put the CraneBoard-supplied Angstrom load on a 2 gig SD card after doing all of the usual stuff as documented in the CraneBoard Angstrom documention....
1) FDisking into two partitions, one 128 megabyte FAT32, one Linux.
2) Putting MLO, u-boot.bin, and uImage on the FAT32 partition (being careful to copy MLO over first)
3) Tar -xvf of the Angstrom Linux files onto the Linux partition.
4) Setting the switches (SW4) on the CraneBoard to boot off of the SD card (switches 1, 2, 3 ON switches 4, 5, 6 OFF, switches 7 & 8 DON'T CARE).
5) Power the CraneBoard with a 5V 2 AMP power supply, connect CraneBoard's Serial Port to HyperTerminal running on Windows
Here's my problem... when I set the switches to boot off the SD/MMC card, I get nothing displayed on the HyperTerminal. If I set the switches to boot from the built-in NAND, then I get a pretty successful boot of Angstrom and the GUI comes up.
My question is, why is my boot-up failing when I set the switches to boot from the SD card? Did I format the SD card incorrectly? Did I not copy the files over correctly?
I'd appreciate if someone who has successfully booted the CraneBoard from SD cards could give me some pointers (should I use GNOME on Fedora to partition the SD card? Any better Linux to use than Fedora? Any hints on copying the boot files over?)
Thanks again for any guidance that you can give me!
