AM6442: Can Customer use non-ECC DDR4?

Part Number: AM6442

Hello Team,

Due to the recent DDR4 price raise, customer is considering to use other manufacturer's DDR4.

but other vendor's DDR4 does not have inline ECC feature.

about the inline ECC, is this a mandatory feature? or customer can decide not to using it?

They are trying to use:

IS43QR16512A-083TBLI
AS4C512M16A-83BIN
MT40A512M16TB-062EIT

are these ok to use?

Regards,

Ted

  • Hi Ted, memories from ISSI, Alliance, and Micron have been used by other customer successfully.  The ECC on the memory is not mandatory.  We have inline ECC feature on AM6442 which they can use.

    Regards,

    James
