Image recognition, processing with Beagleboard and Microsoft Kinect Sensor.

Hi,

I am quite new to Beagleboard, although had some experience with different microcontrollers from the past.

I am currently working on object recognition project that use beagleboard and microsoft kinect and just to clarify my thinking and current progress would like to find out if the following make sense.

Beagleboard is currently running Ubuntu 10.04 with OpenKinect and cut out version of OpenCV and this works but only utilising ARM CPU.

To be able to do some more advance image processing I will need to make use of DSP and something different then OpenCV.

Can someone let me know where should i start with this.

Already have a OMAP and DaVinci software for dummies but still not sure how to tackle the problem.

Any help will be much appreciated.
