AM62A3-Q1: GPMC example project for AM62A3

Part Number: AM62A3-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM62A3, SYSCONFIG, SK-AM62A-LP

Hello TI masters,

I would like to evaluate the GPMC interface at the AM62A3 SoC.
I see that the latest SDK mcu_plus_sdk_am62ax_11_01_00_16 does not support a GPMC example/driver, however the AM62A3 supports the GPMC peripheral.

What is the most appropriate/out-of-the-box way to import a fully compatible GPMC example in CCS 20.4.0 for AM62A3 (in order to study the driver and its configuration from SysConfig and the given API) and deploy it later to an evaluation board? (such as SK-AM62A-LP)

Thanks in advance,
Kostas

  • Hello Kostas,

The AM62A GPMC pins are not connected to any external connectors for user access. Instead, these pins are tied to Boot Mode and other I2C pins.

Therefore, you will need to tap into these points to use the GPMC for interfacing with external memory or an FPGA.

Regarding the software, the GPMC driver is available for AM62x and AM64x SoCs.
The same driver should work for AM62A devices as well, since the IP is identical and the code should be compatible.

    Regards,

    Anil.
