TMS320DM6437: DMAI (Digital Media Application Interface) Component Package

Hello E2E Experts,

I encountered a 'could not open source file' fvid. h 'error during the compilation process. After checking, I found that the Dmai (Digital Media Application Interface) component package is not installed, but I did not find it on the official website or forum. Can you provide it? Thank you very much.

DM6437 is a very old device. We cannot provide any design support for this product as per the "no design support" banner on the product page:

What version of CCS are you using?

That screenshot is not CCS 3.3. It is at least CCS 4. Anywhere from CCS 4 to 8.

The project seems to reference some libraries from a CCS 3.3 installation however. It looks like the customer trying to migrate an old CCS 3.x project to a version of CCS Eclipse.

They are build errors. They need to check that their include search paths are correct and resolve any issues with project migration.

Please note that these old versions of the tools are no longer support. And apparently so is the device. So any additional support we can provide will be limited.

Hello Ki,

Yes, it is CCS5.5 version, but some components are missing from the installation now, causing the compilation to fail. Do you have installation materials for this version? Can TMS320DM6437 be developed on CCS5.5 version?

CCS 5.5 can be used. However it will not come with the missing dependencies the customer is looking for. This is something the device experts need to support.

If I recall properly, some of the older Code Composer (and maybe CCS?) versions shipped with libraries for the parts in Code composer, instead of being provided in a separate software download. I wonder if that's the missing code?

In general, I do NOT support migrating projects for parts like DM6437 to later versions of CCS. I always suggest customers use the version of Code Composer or CCS that was used by the TI software team to develop that software release.

I believe the header files in question are related to Codec Engine: https://software-dl.ti.com/targetcontent/legacy_files/targetcontent/CE/ce_2_23/codec_engine_2_23_01/examples/build_instructions.html

It doesn't come with CCS but was as separate package.
