Dear experts,

I am designing a system with 2 camera, 1 PCBA and 1 display. The display shall show a blending view of the two cameras.

The two camera, one is OV 0x03C10+953: MIPI RAW/60fps, another is IMX623+953: MIPIRAW/60fps.

The deserializer is 954.

What my question is the ISP function in AM62A7, as I checked data sheet for there is a VPAC module in it. I want confirm that: Is the SOC working proccess on ISP:

tuning the first camera data at T0.
after T0, within 1 frame time(16.67ms), camera 2 will be tunned.

Is the process right? If it is right, how can I predict the time cost on the tuning of the two cameras?

As for the two camera will be different configuration, is the VPAC will take two set of config to achieve both camera tuning?

Yes, this is generally the right approach where a single VPAC processes data from multiple cameras. For more details, please check this app note: Developing Multiple-Camera Applications on AM6x.

Yes, you'll provide one configuration for each camera.

One additional information, you'll need to make sure the total throughput of both cameras is below the VPAC bandwidth of 315MPixel/s. If each camera is running at 60fps, total resolution should be smaller than 5.25 MPixel.

In this article, descriped camera to display latency estimate, and I want to know if the operation system is Linux instead of QNX, will the time estimate the same in prediction? Below is the picture from the article.

Hi Shao Hui,

The latency reported in that app note was measured for a vision pipeline implemented using TI OpenVx. Since TI OpenVx is agnostic to the underling OS, whether it's Linux or QNX, the latency estimate in the table should apply to Linux.
