AM6422: Does remoteproc driver in linux has file integrity checking before load R5 firmware?

Hi,

question as title, does remoteproc driver checks R5 firmware with crc, or md5, or other?

I check the source code of remoteproc driver, it has some header checks(like file size, magic ID, etc.),

but no file integrity check, right?

So, if I want to check the if the R5 firmware damaged, I have to add it by myself?

My kernel version is 6.1.90

Hello Jun,

As far as I am aware, the remoteproc driver does not have a file integrity check built in. I am verifying with the Linux developer.

From the developer:

"No. we do not have an integrity check. I think there was a proposal in open source to use secure FW for remote proc loading. It hasn't yet made it into the kernel though."
