Hi,
we plan to use the DM368 as a decoder.
Do you think that a DM368 is able to decode an H264 stream (1080p - 30fps) coming from the Ethernet at 30Mbits/s and display it in full HD ?
Thanks.
Hi,
DM368 is capable of decoding 1080P -30fps and display. There are demos in DVSDK to showcase this functionality. You might download the latest version for DVSDK for DM368 at http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/dvsdk/DVSDK_4_00/4_02_00_06/index_FDS.html
30MBPs is something which i feel is huge for receiving, parsing, etc... & not profiled, I will get back on this.
Meanwhile downloading the above DVSDK package for DM368 and referring to quick start guide & software developers guide would hekp, also DM368 manual at http://www.ti.com/product/tms320dm368 might help.
Best Regards,
Velan
Hi,
thanks for your answer.
Your are right the 30 mbits/s is the question. And it is fundamental for our potential customer.
Regards.
Hi,
With the recent profile of 10mbits H.264 1080p30 over ethernet we hit ARM load of 40% in average. In order to handle 30mbits the ARM load would be the bottleneck.
