DRA829V: DRA829V custom board image loading

Hi,

We have developed a custom board using the DRA829V processor. The board does not support SD card booting; instead, it uses eMMC booting.

To load the image on the DRA829V, we are using UART boot mode. Through UART booting, we first partition the eMMC and then copy the image filesto eMMC and from next it is booting from eMMC .

However, during UART booting, some boards are unable to load files using YMODEM. We are able to load the tiboot3.bin file using XMODEM. After that, we switch to loading the sysfw file, and then attempt to load the tispl file, but it does not load.

On boards that are working correctly, after loading the sysfw file, the log shows the message “Trying to boot from UART”. However, on the boards that are not working, this message does not appear.

Could you please help us understand what could be causing this issue?

    Hi Vamsi,

    Sorry for the delayed response.

    Can you help me with a couple of queries regarding this issue?

    • Can you help us with the custom board you are using?
      • Is it a GP / HS-FS / HS-SE  device ?
    • Also , can you try using minicom instead of  TeraTerm VT and give it a try.
    • Is there any hardware/software differences between the passing and failing boards?
