TMS320C6748: Need C7xDSP Data Sheet

Part Number: TMS320C6748
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM62D-Q1

Hi Team,

We are looking to Upgrade our DSP to latest TI C7xDSP(Fixed Point). Need More info on this latest DSP with Data sheet. Where can we find it?

Regards,

Aditya

  • Hello Aditya,

The C6748 has a C6x DSP core in it. I assume that this is the processor you used in your existing design, and that now you are asking for details about a processor with a C7x core in it. Is that correct?

Please tell us more about your usecase. What do you need the processor to do? Are there specific features you were looking for?

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Hi Nick,

Actually we want to Upgrade our DSP chipset from C5X TO C7X. we want to evaluate C7x performans for our product. Please give me datasheet

for C7x (Fixed Point). We are not looking for any specific features, Its Just general purpose DSP processor for us.

    Regards,

    Aditya

  • Hello Aditya,

I am aware of using the C7 core on processors like AM62Ax for edgeAI acceleration, or on processors like AM62D-Q1 for audio processing.

I am sending your thread to another team member to comment on our plans for enabling C7 for general-purpose development, instead of AI or Audio applications. Feel free to ping the thread if you do not get a response within a few business days.

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Hello Aditya,

There are several versions of C7x which are available on various devices. Generally, those DSPs have been used for AI acceleration, Audio, and Radar. General purpose applications is not fully supported yet.

That said, you can look at the AM62D benchmark app note which includes performance for specific version of the DSP C7504: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/spradm6/spradm6.pdf

My suggestion is to reach out to your local TI representative to share more details about your application so that we see what options are available for you and so that we consider it in our plans. I am also sending this thread to our marketing team for any further suggestions.

    Best regards,

    Qutaiba
