Multicore DSP for Cryptography???

We are looking for a DSP that can efficiently implement cryptography algorithms.  We are looking at a part from another supplier that can run SHA1 in 5 cycles at 1GHz.  It is a multi core part that has registers on board to support the cryptography engine.  One of the applications we have is to run a loop where we do SHA1 on a 512 bit value 50,000+ times and we need to be able to do it as efficiently as possible. We have looked at some processors that do not have hardware register support for this and the need to go out to memory over an I/O interface kills the performance and makes them unusable.

What solutions would we have to offer to accomplish these types of tasks?  Please send me links to details about the cryptographic engines or applications that you have demonstrated that are similar.

Sincerely,

Jason

  • Hi jason,

We don't support crypto support through the forum. can you contact your local sales person for further information. if you need info about whom to contact, please let me know if you need help in finding the correct person.

    thanks,

    Arun.
