TDA4VE-Q1: Does TDA4VE support 2-Ethernet camera

Part Number: TDA4VE-Q1

Hi,

Thanks!

We are looking for processor chipset for one of our indian OEM customer for ADAS application. Requirement is to interface 2 ethernet based camera with Radar. For the camera we came across TDA4VE chipset has CPSW2G, support 2 ethernet port in Main core.

Does TDA4VE would support 2 ethernet camera?

Any reference source is available to understand the flow from driver to userspace for reception of frames & buffer management?

Looking forward for your response ASAP.

Regards,

Vipul Kumar

  • Hi Vipul,

Well as such it can support 2 Ethernet camera input and if you require, you can even use MCU domain CPSW2G port, but it really depends on the other parameters as well, like resolution, codec being used, bit rate etc details.. So please provide bit more detailed requirement.

  • Hi Brijesh,

    Thanks for the response!

Requirement is to interface 2 ethernet camera modules with Main Domain only(Not MCU). We found only 1 Main domain ethernet port is available. I want to understand, can we use internal ethernet switch & connect 2 camera modules to main domain only. Is it possible to do with custom board using TDA4VE chipset?

Ethernet camera with 30FPS we will be using.

Please do share if any reference document or source is available to understand the same.

  • Hi Vipul,

There is no switch on TDA4VE, so for main domain, only one port available.

We dont have example in the SDK for receiving/capturing Ethernet based camera..
