I would like to monitor the interrupt generated by GPIO 8-0 (bank 8, GPIO0) in /proc/interrupts.

Could you please advise what needs to be enabled in the Linux kernel menuconfig and how the Device Tree node for this GPIO interrupt should be configured?

Are you using the latest SDK?

What driver is using the interrupt?

I believe in menuconfig you only need the following:

CONFIG_GPIOLIB
CONFIG_GPIO_OMAP

which are selected by default in latest SDK.

Some of this info is available in Documentation/devicetree/bindings/gpio/ti,omap-gpio.yaml

Can you help me understand the usecase better? is the GPIO detecting the interrupt?

Hello,

I am using version 04.01.00.06 (Sep 26, 2017).

I would like to know:

Which kernel driver needs to be enabled.
The corresponding Device Tree node required for that driver.
How to monitor interrupts using cat /proc/interrupts.

Please let me know the required configuration and any relevant details.

This SDK version is almost 10 years old and no longer supported. I have responded on the setup and where one can find information with regards to the DTS node. There are examples on the existing dts examples included on the SDK.
