AM62P: Hypervisor is not enabling in the QNX BSP

Part Number: AM62P

Hi Team,

Posting on behalf of our customer.

We are using QNX SDP 8.0.3 with the AM62P SK EVM BSP (Experimental).
QNX Neutrino boots correctly.
Hypervisor components (qvm, smmuman, libhyp) are present and included in IFS.
However, startup-am62p-evm enters EL1 and prints “Hypervisor support disabled”.
This indicates EL2 is not enabled in the BSP startup.

Please confirm:

  • Is there a hypervisor-enabled AM62P BSP (EL2 startup)?

  • Or is AM62P Hypervisor support planned on the roadmap?

Regards,

Danilo

  • Hi Danilo,

As BSP owned by QNX, did customer reach out QNX support team regarding this query?

    BR,

    Sunil M S

  • Hi Sunil,

    Thanks for the clarification.

We have not yet reached out to the QNX Support team. Our understanding is that while the BSP is listed under QNX SDP, the hardware enablement and platform capability (including Hypervisor Host support) are dependent on the SoC vendor.

Since the BSP in question targets the TI AM62P platform, we wanted to first confirm whether the AM62P BSP itself supports QNX Hypervisor Host (EL2) before engaging QNX support. This is why we raised the query from the BSP/platform support perspective.

Once we have clarity on whether Hypervisor Host support is officially available for AM62P, we can proceed accordingly (including engaging QNX support if required).

Please let us know if you recommend directly engaging QNX Support for an official confirmation.

    Best regards,
    Subramanian P

  • Hi Subramanian,

Currently AM62P BSP does not support QNX Hypervisor. QNX Hypervisor is a QNX offering.

QNX must  be contacted for any support on this.

  • Hi Subramanian,

    Is there any further queries?
