Starterware Version - AM1808_Starterware_1_00_02_02.
Target used - AM1808 LogicPD EVM

USECASE:

Load and run usb-dev-serial.out on the EVM.
Testcase works fine the first time.
Now halt the processor from CCS.
Reload the output and run on the target.
The processor is stuck at Waiting for Host.. and USB enumerates as an unrecognized device.

Any help on the Usecase above is appreciated.

The same usecase when run on ubuntu 10.04 gives device descriptor read/64, error -110 the second time. Any help..please.

I have been working on this usb_dev_serial reload issue for a while now. The USB registers PERI_CSR0 and HOST_CSR0 have there RXPKTRDY bits turned on and HOST_TXCSR and PERI_TXCSR have there TXPKTRDY bits turned on.

This means that the AM1808 is not receiving interrupts on a reload. I looked in Core Registers and AINTC registers, and everything looks cleared on a reload.

Any hints on why interrupts are not working on a reload. Thanks for your help.

Hi Shilpa,

Similar observation was seen with other peripherals also. Please try any of the below two options for re-running the application.

1) A power cycle of the board before re-run OR
2) -> Halt -> System reset -> Reload->Run

Hi sirish,

Thanks for your reply. We have observed that a system reset fixes the issue. But we have a custom USB serial application, which needs a reload and run command to function. We have noticed that on a reload the USB module doesn't take any interrupts.

Hi Shilpa,

Can you explain your custom application in bit more detail to help me understand how a reload without and with system reset effects your application please?

In general, if you have a bootloader like application reloading the application every time, you may have to re-configure the core registers.

Sirish,

Our USB serial application requires to do a warm reset which is equivalent to restart,reload and run. We tested this usecase on an AM335x startware usb_dev_serial example. And it has the same issue.

The application configures the core registers on startup. A reload should go through the startup sequence and reconfigure again. Please correct me if I am wrong.

What other core registers do we need to configure other than the ones in the startup code? Once again, thanks for your help.
