AM62L: Does RT-linux stable in AM62L

Hi Team,

We are building the Yocto using the processor-sdk-11.00.15.05-am62lxx-config.txt configuration.

To enable CONFIG_PREEMPT_RT config in kernel we are planning to switch to RT-linux from ti-staging-linux using the MACHINE=<machine> ARAGO_RT_ENABLE=1 bitbake -k tisdk-default-image command.

Is RT-Linux stable and fully developed for AM62L at this point? Is any know issue present? if not, then we may prepare to move.

Please confirm, so we can save the time.

It looks like we have provided RT Linux SDK for AM62L for all SDK 11.x releases:

So I would expect RT Linux to be as developed as "regular" Linux on AM62L.

One thing to keep in mind is that AM62L is a very new device, so you will see a lot of changes from one SDK release to another as we add new features in. So if you are looking for the most developed version of Linux kernel 6.12 for AM62L development, I would suggest using SDK 11.2 instead of SDK 11.0. That is the last SDK release we are providing for Linux kernel 6.12, and it will have the most features & bugfixes.

The development team is still updating the SDK docs, so unfortunately it looks like the release notes are still copy/pasted from SDK 11.1. Hopefully the team gets that updated soon:
