NAND flash interface to OMAP 3530

hi all,

i have to interface 32Gb(bit)  NAND flash to GPMC.

1) what type NAND flash can be connected (MLC or SLC) for booting purpose. small portion is using for booting (x-loader, u-boot, kernel image and rootFS)

and remaining portion for Mass storage devic.

2) is there any restrictions on page and block size of NAND flash ?

thanks and regards

  • MLC is not supported.  SLC is supported.  We provide up to 8-bit ECC support

(can correct 8 bit flips in a sub-page).    Larger capacity NAND devices may

have ECC requirements that exceed 8-bit.  In that case, eMMC is a better solution,

which has ECC on the memory device.
