J784S4XEVM: How to enable xwayland on J784S4 EVM

I would like to enable xwayland on J784S4 EVM.

I found the following issue and I understand that Processor Linux SDK didn't support xwayland two years ago.

(2) TDA4VM: wayland with x11 support in yocto - Processors forum - Processors - TI E2E support forums

I have two questions.

Q1.Does Processor Linux SDK support xwayland currently?

Q2.How do I enable xwayland? Please tell me the steps.

Hello,

xwayland is not supported. I don't believe there are any roadmap plans for this but will check and let you know if there are.

Muraoka-san,

I checked with the development team and there are no plans to support xwayland. There's nothing limiting xwayland from running on our device we just choose not to build or support it since x11 is legacy and difficult to maintain from a support point of view. If you're interested in other platforms, I believe our debian release that is shipped w/ Beagle-Y has xwayland but you would have to check with the image or post a question to the Beagleboard community.
