We are looking for a media processor similar to the TI DM385, featuring support for interlaced video input , real-time image/video processing using an integrated IPIPE/ISS subsystem, and capable of outputting data through 16‑/24‑/30‑bit video output ports or flexible asynchronous interfaces compatible with FPGA receivers for further custom processing.

I don't know the specific of your system requirements, but take a look at the AM5728 and AM5748. Both are designed to handle multimedia applications.

Thank you for the support.

I am looking for a processor capable of accepting interlaced input, as our system receives interlaced video from one of the sensors. The output of processor (Output can be Digital data) should then be converted to ARINC format using an FPGA.

There is the TMS320DM8168, however support for this is through third parties.

Another possible option would be the TDA3LA, This is available for high volume automotive manufacturers.

Hi PaulM,

I have reviewed the TMS320DM8168, but it lacks sufficient software/support resources and its ARM Cortex‑A8 + HDVICP architecture results in higher power consumption.

I also cannot use the TDA3LA, as it does not include a hardware video‑compression block and therefore does not support H.264/H.265 encoding.

Are there any other TI processors that support interlaced video input and also provide H.264 encoding capability?
