AM6442: PCIe Boot Mode

Part Number: AM6442

I understand that AM64 supports PCIe boot, but only supports endpoint mode, is that correct?

AM64x/AM243x Technical Reference Manual (Rev. I)
www.ti.com/.../spruim2i.pdf
4.1.2 Bootloader Modes (page 80)

AM64 supports PCIe boot (endpoint mode) with the latest PSDK Linux.

https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux/esd/AM64X/11_02_08_02/exports/docs/linux/Foundational_Components/U-Boot/UG-PCIeBoot.html

What use cases is PCIe boot (endpoint mode) intended for?

AM64 supports industrial networks. Therefore, one of the use cases can be envisioned as a PCIe-connected network board for expanding the industrial networks with AM64 as a controller.

What other use cases are there?

Best regards,

Daisuke
