TDA4VM: EE tuning does not seem to affect image on target

Hi Gang,

I'm trying to enable the EE tuning on the target but it doesn't seem to be applied.

What I did so far:

  • Generated the tuning.

  • Added it to the rest of the files.

  • Added the path in generate_dcc.sh:

    $DCC_TOOL_PATH/dcc_gen_linux ar0239_viss_ee_dcc.xml

  • Executed the script.

I also followed the step mentioned in the documentation:

Navigate to /opt/edgeai-tiovx-modules/src/tiovx_viss_module.c (around line 73) and enable ee_mode by replacing it with:

obj->params.fcp[0].ee_mode = TIVX_VPAC_VISS_EE_MODE_Y8;

However, I don't see any difference in the output image compared to before adding the tuning.

Am I missing something in the process, or is there anything else that needs to be enabled for the EE tuning to take effect?

    I tested the latest "ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-11_02_00_06" and seems to have similar EE issues.

    It might be either the same issue as j722s or a different one.
    I will have to check integrally.

    I did some tests on J721E RTOS SDK 11.02 and 11.01.
    Rolling back the commit enables EE for TIVX_VPAC_VISS_EE_MODE_Y8 mode on both.

    I am not familiar with the edgeai s/w stack and not aware of any s/w changes there.
    We just have a bug filed for the same issue on edgeai/am62a.
    If rolling back the viss kernel commit does not work for you, we will have to wait for the resolution of the bug.
