SK-AM62A-LP: Initializing the watchdog in u-boot

Hello,

We are building the image from SDK 11.01.05.07 with Yocto for SK-AM62A-LP.
We want to activate the watchdog when the A53 CPUs start up, so if possible when u-boot starts up.
The expected action at the end of the watchdog time is a complete system reboot.

To do this, we have added the following fragment.cfg to the u-boot-ti-stagging recipe.
The watchdog behaves as expected in u-boot, but when we start linux kernel only one A53 core starts correctly.

We can compare console_with_fragment.log and console_without_fragment.log .

Have we forgotten something to achieve our requirement ?

Hi Benjamin,

Which main_rti module do you enabled in u-boot and kernel devicetree for the watchdog?

Please note that you should only use main_rti0 but not any other rti module.

We have kept only main_rti0 in the u-boot device tree (all others are reserved, which was not the case by default) and it works fine.

Hi Benjamin,

Do you mean you disabled all rti nodes but main_rti0 in kernel devicetree fixes the CPU startup issue?

To resolve the CPU startup issue, we simply disabled the rti nodes in the u-boot devicetree. We did not need to modify the Linux kernel devicetree, which retains main_rti0, main_rti1, main_rti2, main_rti3, (main_rti4 being reserved for the C7). We are still performing some non-regression tests, but we have not identified any regressions to date.
