AM62A7-Q1: 10-base T1S on am62A

Hi Experts,

Could you answer following questions one by one?

  1. Is it possible to connect 10-base T1S to AM62A?
  2. If yes, can PSDK Linux support 10-base T1S.
    2.2 If No, should customer create the ethernet driver for Linux?
    2.3 If Yes, do you have any concern when customer use 10-base T1S instead of 100-base T1 except the speed.  we would like to know the main difference.

    Which peripheral of AM62A can be used for 10-base T1S?
    And what kind of I/F in 10-base T1S PHY should have?

    Hi,

    This depends on the Ethernet PHY they are planning to use. Normally this type of PHY attaches to the Ethernet MAC and typically in RGMII mode. The selected PHY would need a Linux driver. These drivers could already be in the SDK or built outside the SDK. If outside the SDK the driver would need to be compatible the with kernel version of the SDK.

    This really depends on the PHY selected to fully answer this question.

    Thank you for your comments. 

    I understand connection is depended on PHY customer is planning. And normally this will be connected with RGMII mode. And driver in Linux or other OS is needed for them. It seems there is not limitation to connect T1S to our SoC instead of T1 except the speed. Thanks, a lot your support.
