AM62A7: AM62Ax Sysconfig Options Greyed Out

Part Number: AM62A7
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG

Attempting to create a new SysConfig for a new DDR part.  The Datasheet specifies a Read Latency of 22, however this option is greyed out in the SysConfig tool:

Why would this be the case, and how can I enable this option?

  • Hi Robert,

A value of 22 when read DBI is disabled is not in the LPDDR4 JEDEC spec.  Can you show where in the DDR datasheet this is?  They may have to use 24 if the memory specifies a non-standard value of 22

  • Hi JJD,

We have DBI enabled and are using WL set B, but the 22 option remains greyed out:

  • Hi Robert,

Write DBI is enabled in the tool, not read DBI.  Read DBI is disabled by default.  So you would choose a value for read latency associated with read DBI disabled.

WL Set B is related to write latency.  If you choose this, Write Latency of 22 is available.

All of the latency parameters change automatically based on the operating frequency you choose.  You should not have to manually change any of those in the configuration.

Just curious, why are you choosing WL set B?

    Regards,

    James

  • Ok, I assumed (incorrectly) that the Read DBI setting followed the Write DBI setting, that makes everything line up.  Thanks for the clarification.

Set B was selected for WL to provide more margin for operating at temperature extremes (-40 to +105).
