AM6442: EtherCAT performance

Hi Expert,

Please help evaluate if AM6442 could match the requirements in EtherCAT master.

1) The slave nodes only transmit analog signals. each slave node receives 4 bytes and sends 8 bytes, the communication delay requirement is within 30 microseconds

2) 24 slave nodes.

Hello Andy,

In addition to Pratheesh's questions, can you also answer the below?

1. Define what type of slave nodes are you looking at? (i.e. motor control or I/O slaves?)

2. What EtherCAT Master stack are you planning on using? Here are some examples: [FAQ] How to Setup an EtherCAT Network using TI Processors

Hi Daolin,

1）Each slave node just receives 4 bytes and sends 8 bytes, no motor or I/O.

Assessing if AM6442 is a good fit for your application will also heavily depend on what OS, what EtherCAT Master will be used.
