Regarding Capture Encode application

I am working on Netra platform (Evaluation kit).I am using ti-ezsdk_dm816x-evm_5_03_01_15 package.Iam able to run the Capture encode application for 720p (1280x720) successfully.

But when i change the resolution to 1080p (1920x1080) the application executes but there is no processing of data going on.I feel the capture is not happening for 1080p resolution.

1) Does the capture encode application work for 1080p (1920 x 1080) resolution ?

2) Is there any support in the OMX capture module for 1080p capture?

Note:-

My capture inport is from component (YUV input)

Badri,

Yes capture-encode app works for 1080p. In fact default app on ezsdk is for 1080p. Have you run decode-dislay-capture-encode-display app from Matrix GUI, It captures 1080p on component o/p and does encoding. Are you sure your source o/p is 1080p60.

Badri,

app is in component-sources/omx/examples folder.

we have tested with 1080p, 720p. For lower resolution capture may not have support on EIO EVM card. Encode alone does not have such limitation.

1) Is it possible to achieve 1080p 60 fps in Netra platform for VC1 codec ie to capture->encode->decode->display.

Note :- VC1 Encode is done in IVAHD0 and VC1 decode in IVAHD1

2) Has some one tried it for VC1 for advance profile level 4 ?

3) Does the Netra support throughput of 1080p 60Fps for VC1 codec ?

Hi,

It is possible to do 1080p 60 fps decode on Netra platform. VC1 decoder on IVAHD supports only upto Advance profile Level 3
