AM3359 DDR2 Load Mode Command?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3359, AM3517

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how to issue a LOAD MODE command to the DDR2 PHY attached to the AM3359?  Can anyone also describe what the mode registers are set to during initialization?  The TRM mentions a DDR_PHY_CTRL_1 and a DDR_PHY_CTRL_2, with 24 bits and 32 bits labelled as "see the DDR PHY specification".  Are these mode control bits?  I think that the DDR2 device I am trying to use requires an update to configure the proper burst length, but I don't know how to issue the LOAD MODE command from the TRM.

We're dead in the water until I can get a little more information on this.  Any help?

  • Hello Mike,

The DDR Mode register is configured using the SDRAM_CONFIG_1 registers of the AM3359.  The DDR_PHY_CTRL_1 and 2 register descriptions will be updated in the next version of the TRM.  Until the new version of the AM335x TRM is realeased, you can reference the AM3517 DDR_PHY_CTRL registers for DDR2.
