AM625: Not able to use custom device tree while building kernel for TI-AM625 EVM

Part Number: AM625

We have built a custom board and built Uboot, its working fine. now we want to build linux kernel with the same device tree and full funtionality without GUI. How to pass our device tree to ti yocto build ?

  • Hi Mangesh,

The u-boot and Linux are not using the same device tree. U-boot uses a self compiled device tree purely to config itself, while Linux will be using a compiled device tree blob (DTB) stored in the boot media (at /boot/) with many more nodes than u-boot.

You'll have to modify the Linux device tree at arch/arm64/boot/dts/ti/ from the Linux source with your board specific changes.

Are you looking for the steps to build a properly modified Linux DT or the steps to modify the Linux DT itself?

    Regards,
    Vinu
