SK-AM62B-P1: Help with RJ45 connection

Part Number: SK-AM62B-P1

Hi,

I was wondering will the connection work if I only use TD_A & TD_B pins only from DP83867IRRGZ connected to a 2-pair pins RJ45 magnetics? I have shared the screenshot of the schematic below. If yes, is the below schematic meet the requirement?

The SK-AM62b-P1 uses all TD - A,B,C,D pair pins going to RJ45 connector.

  • Hi Fnu,

In other words, you need to use a 100 Base-T RJ-45 + magnetics with 1000 Base-T (Gigabit PHY)

Although I saw several spots in internet where it looks possible, I don't think this is something tested or recommended by TI.

    The recommended configurations are:

1000 Mbps PHY with 1000 Mbps magnetics

100 Mbps PHY with 100 Mbps magnetics

You can search ti.com for 100 Base-T PHY, or replace the RJ-45 with 1000 Base-T part number. In the latter case you can still limit the speed to 100 Mbps in software if you need to.

    Regards,

    Stan
