TDA4VH-Q1: 4K 60FPS Camera to Display Benchmark

Part Number: TDA4VH-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDA4VH

Hi TI Experts,

Customer has a very basic requirement that, their input camera raw data is 4K 60FPS, they want to know the benchmark that from CSI -> VPAC (VISS ->LDC ->MSC) -> Display latency. Customer has seen that in the AM62A we have an application note below (based on 1080P 60FPS).

Customer wants to know the similar benchmark that we could have on TDA4VH for 4k 60fps, may I know could you please support this benchmark for customer please?

Thanks,

Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

    We dont have the exact numbers, but here is what i am thinking..

    Capture = 16ms

    ISP = 14ms

    LDC = 14ms

    MSC = 14ms

    Display = 33ms

    So total latency would be approximately around 92ms.. Please note that i have assumed that the LDC and MSC both are outputting at same resolution. If their output is lower resolution, the latency will reduce slightly. Also capture and display are not in sync, so there can be at max two frame delay in the display, assuming there is no much buffering in the display.

    Also please note that VPAC is assumed to be running at 720MHz with 80% available throughput.
