AM620-Q1: Regarding- AM6202BTGFHIAMCRQ1- Processor

We plan to go with this Sitara processor Part number AM6202 – No Display & NO GPU Configuration as part of our trade study for low power consumption. Can you please help us the following queries on this processor and PMIC. 

 

Regarding Processor: AM6202BTGFHIAMCRQ1

 

  1. Is this part number “AM6202BTGFHIAMCRQ1” suitable for this configuration with FuSa feature
  2. When this IC launched on market..? There are no stock availability in supplier(Digi-Key,Mouser), How to purchases..?
  3. EOL status for this part.?
  4. Provide Evaluation part number with LPDDR4 part used in reference design.
  5. Power measurements report for this Part..? ( Measurements taken from Oscilloscope, Not Power calculator Tool in excel)
  6. We need to access the RGMII interface directly from Sitara processor (Instead of MDI lines), How to get the RGMII interface lines.?
  7. Is LPDDR4 supports Dual rank..? if dual rank supports, how much maximum memory capacity can use..? Suggest, if there is any Ti tool to select the right LPDDR4 Part for Sitara processor.?
  8. Do we have reference board stack up for this 441-pin FCBGA AMC Package
  9. Why 32.768KHz crystal required for AM6252 processor? If we are not using in the design any effects on the processor performance? 
  10. If SGMII is used on the Ethernet L2 switch side and RGMII is used on the processor side in the DP83869 Ethernet PHY, can the PHY operate in a transparent mode? (Bridge type)
  11. EOL Status of this IC DP83869 
  12. if we select the part respective clock frequency (Eg: T= 1.4GHz (0.85V), 400MHz M4F), can able to change the frequency up/down through SW.?

  1. Is this PMIC part “TPS6521920WRHBRQ1 “ suitable for LPDDR4 Design.
  2. How to do first time EEPROM programming in IC..?
  3. is it Internal EEPROM or whether it is communicate from processor through I2C..? once VSYS Power Up.
  4. is this EEPROM one time programmable by Ti, or can able to write by user..?, if yes, how we can write/read to the EEPROM.
  5. Is voltage monitor available for input(VSYS) & all Output rail.?

    RGMII signals are directly pinned out and accessible. Please refer to the device datasheet. 

    Is LPDDR4 supports Dual rank..? if dual rank supports, how much maximum memory capacity can use..? Suggest, if there is any Ti tool to select the right LPDDR4 Part for Sitara processor.?

    AM62x is compatible with any DDR device that is JESD209-4B standard-compliant.

    Why 32.768KHz crystal required for AM6252 processor? If we are not using in the design any effects on the processor performance? 

    It is only needed if there is a plan to use RTC functionality. "Not used" LFOSC implementation instructions are in section 6.12.4.1.5 of the datasheet.

    The frequency of M4 is fixed. A53 can be configured in SW after boot. Please refer to Table 6-2 Device Operating Performance Points in the datasheet.

    1. This processor has inline ECC feature, it is mandatory to select LPDDR or DDR should have inline ECC features..?

    AM620 supports in line ECC for both LPDDR4 and DDR4.

    Can you please confirm, We know AM620 supports inline ECC feature, My question it is mandatory to select LPDDR that should have inline ECC features..? or else we can go ahead without ECC feature LPDDR4 memory..?

  • No, the in line ECC is done by the DDR controller so there is no requirement from the memory side to support it.
