AM6442: Query on AM6442 VMON_VSYS Functionality

Part Number: AM6442

We are using the AM6442BSFGHAALV processor for a new design.

Could you please clarify whether VMON_VSYS is intended for undervoltage detection, overvoltage detection, or both for pre regulator supply.

Additionally, the datasheet recommends placing a filter capacitor across pull down resistor in 8.2.4 System Power Supply Monitor Design Guidelines section. Could you suggest an appropriate capacitor value for the same.

  • Hi Arunkumar,

Could you please clarify whether VMON_VSYS is intended for undervoltage detection, overvoltage detection, or both for pre regulator supply.

It detects only undervoltage events, see row #1:

It really depends on the system design and how much noise the pin will be picking up. I guess several nanofarads is a good starting point then adjust as necessary. Too much capacitance would delay a real event, thus this also depends on your requirements.
