Connecting IAR j-trace to AM335x EVM

Hello,

I have an IAR JTAG (j-trace) and I would like to connect it to an AM335X EVM that I have.

The JTAG comes with 2 connectors, one large 20-pin and a small 20-pin keyed for tracing. I can't find any documentation to show where to connect the IAR JTAG. I'm guessing I will need some sort of adapter since none of the pins seem to match the JTAG connectors. Any information on the subject would be helpful.

Hi Vaibhav,

Thank you for your quick response, that did help. One more question though, I found out that the J2 pin on the EVM is used for DSP debugging (so we can connect the XDS560 debugger to it by getting one of the adapters). J18 seems to fit for the large 20-pin connector of the IAR JTAG, but I'm not sure if that's the correct one, and none of the ports seem to fit the j-trace connector of the IAR JTAG. Do you know which ports are designed for ARM debugging?

You need to use the one of the baseboard (Fig 2 of http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/AM335x_General_Purpose_EVM_HW_User_Guide#EVM_System_View)

There's no DSP in AM335x. I don't have a board with me right now so i don't recall what J2 is for. You can find this from the schematics of the board.
