TMS320C6713

I am using TMS320C6713 DSK made by VI microsystems, Chennai, India. I also have a debugger software which is provided by the same company. Now if I have to use this board but testing and debbugging without this debugger software, how can I load and debug the C program using this kit?

Also let me know if I can use XDS510 JTAG Emulator with CCS for the same.

You should be able to use any XDS510/560 JTAG emulator with CCS 3.x or up so long that you have an adequate Gel file to load and initialize the CPU hardware, and then you can load and run your own program, otherwise, you can crawl in whitout any Gel and see what the CPU is doing.

Can u explain me about Gel file in detail. When we write a code and simulate it, i did not encounter any Gel file. What does it mean? Why is it necessary?

You can download Spectrum Digital DSK6713 related Board Support Library, gel file and example tests from http://c6000.spectrumdigital.com/dsk6713/V2/files/DSK6713.zip and use some of their example test code on your platform, after you make all necessary modifications to memory map, I/O etc...
