AM625: Clarification on PSDK QNX Build Error and Windows-Based Build Setup

Part Number: AM625

Hello Team,

I requested the PSDK QNX package for AM62X  from the TI team, provided it. Before building, I tried to import it into the QNX BSP using the Momentics IDE. However, when I attempted to build, I encountered an error stating that the binaries are not present.

Could you please clarify why this error occurs? Do I need to build the SDK before using it? If a build is required, are there any additional packages needed apart from ti-processor-sdk-qnx_am62xx_10_00_00_01.tar.gz?

I also have another question: is it possible to perform this build procedure on a Windows PC, since my QNX Software Center and Momentics IDE are installed on Windows? If so, could you please provide the steps to complete the process on a Windows system?

Kindly guide me in resolving this issue.

Thanks & Regards

Aparna C Nair

  • Hi Aparna,

Could you please clarify why this error occurs? Do I need to build the SDK before using it? If a build is required, are there any additional packages needed apart from ti-processor-sdk-qnx_am62xx_10_00_00_01.tar.gz?

Building the SDK is required, the ti-processor-sdk-qnx_am62xx_10_00_00_01.tar.gz just contains only the sources.

is it possible to perform this build procedure on a Windows PC

SDK has been validated with linux ubuntu (22.04) host.
Please refer release notes on device support and validation information.

  • Hello,

    Thank You!

I have one more doubt. If I complete the entire build process on my Linux system and all the binaries are generated, can I copy the complete PSDK QNX folder to my Windows PC (which has SDP and the Momentics IDE installed) and continue the remaining activities there? Will this work or not?

  • Hi Aparna,

    since my QNX Software Center

To build the QNX SDK, QNX license and the dependent packages mentioned in the release notes(QNX Dependency section ) are required to be installed in the Host machine.

continue the remaining activities there? Will this work or not?

Yes, you can still use momentics IDE even if the Host build machine is different , please refer the following docs(link)

  • Okay, thank you. I will try what you suggested.

  • Hello..

I successfully built PSDKQA and generated the binaries. After integrating with QNX, I expected additional drivers such as SPI and Ethernet, but I only got the output from pidin arg

  • Hello

I have one more query. From the pidin arg output, I understood that the SPI driver is not enabled in the QNX IFS image.

Additionally, I observed that I used the psdk_linux_9.2_k3-am625-sk-am62xx-evm.dtb file, converted it to DTS, and found that all SPI nodes are in a disabled state.

How can I enable General Purpose SPI (MCSPI) in this case? Also, since I am using the AM625 board, which SPI interface should I enable?

Please guide me on how to resolve this issue.

    Thanks& Regards

  • Hi Aparna,

How can I enable General Purpose SPI (MCSPI) in this case?

As part of TIs QNX offering, we are not supporting SPI.The support has to come as part of QNX BSP.

Can you please check with Blackberry/QNX for support on SPI.
