We are working on the AM62P platform with SDK 11.02.08.02 and evaluating boot media options for our final product layout.
Our current PoC uses Falcon boot from eMMC for all components. For the final design, we are considering a mixed-media boot configuration:
- SBL stage1 (tiboot3.bin) and SBL stage2 in OSPI NOR
- Safety App (WKUP R5) and Vehicle App (MCU R5) firmware in OSPI NOR
- Linux artifacts (tifalcon.bin + fitImage / kernel + DTB + ATF + OPTEE) in eMMC (UDA raw region)
Could you confirm whether this mixed-media setup is supported on AM62P with Falcon mode? Specifically:
1. Can SBL stage2 (running from OSPI NOR) load R5 firmware from OSPI and then load Linux artifacts from eMMC in the same boot flow, with Falcon jump into the kernel?
2. Are there any reference examples or SBL configurations in the MCU+ SDK that demonstrate this hybrid OSPI + eMMC scenario, or would this require a custom SBL build combining drivers from sbl_ospi_linux and sbl_emmc_linux?
3. Are there known limitations or constraints we should be aware of (e.g., Falcon mode requirement that tifalcon.bin must reside in a specific filesystem/location)?
