AM6422: Am6422: XDP Zero Copy for ICSSG - Mainline Kernel, Ti Kernel and CIP Kernel

Part Number: AM6422

Dear TI Support,

I want to start with XDP_ZEROCOPY with our Board with AM6422 on a Port connected via ICSSG.

I found out that there is support for it in the mainline Kernel from November 20, 2025. History for drivers/net/ethernet/ti/icssg/icssg_prueth.c - torvalds/linux · GitHub  image.png

I see that these commits are also in the TI Trees, e.g. in 11.02.13-rt: https://git.ti.com/cgit/ti-linux-kernel/ti-linux-kernel/commit/?h=11.02.13-rt&id=2aecd04861c5d6b9c6f9ed592e6c6bbf59b85140

In our current TI-Kernel 09.01.00.001-rt these commits are not inlcuded, as these commits are never, so I need to switch the kernel anyway.

I would prefer using the SLTS kernel 6.12 from the CIP: kernel/git/cip/linux-cip.git - Civil Infrastructure Platform stable kernel branches

The icssg_prueth.c driver there sees commits older and never than the required patch series adressing XDP_ZEROCOPY: kernel/git/cip/linux-cip.git - Civil Infrastructure Platform stable kernel branches

Is TI going to push the Commits for XDP_ZEROCOPY for pru_icssg to the CIP Kernel? If yes, is there a schedule for this?

Thanks for your reply!

BR

Daniel

  • Hi Daniel,

I want follow up with the note that we are currently working on our CIP roadmap for this but the schedule and details are not ready to be shared in this public forum. If you would like more detailed information on our schedule for this please contact the local TI sales team on this as that will help facilitate that information to be shared with you.

Please let me know if there are additional questions.
