OMAP-L138 McASP timing

Hi,

The case of using external bitclocks only are not reflected in the McASP Timing of the datasheet. There are only setup times relative to using the Master clocks...!

Please clarify.

See OMAP 138, McASP Timing info in SPRS586D–JUNE 2009–REVISED OCTOBER 2011, page 154, table 5-54.

 Timing info is listed as:

 NO (7). tsu(AXR-ACLKRX) ->Setup time AXR0[n] input to ACLKR/X:     Condition: AHCLKR/X int or AHCLKR/X ext..

Q1: What is the Timing if the AHCLKR/X is not used?   (It will and does work without AHCLKR, as shown in “SPRUH77A–December 2011”)

Q2: It will make more sense if the datasheets, states Condition: ACLKR/X int or ACLKR/X ext instead of AHCLKR/X int or AHCLKR/X ext ?

/Magnus

  • Magnus,

    I've forwarded this inquiry to our resident McASP expert, but he is unavailable until later this week (probably Thursday).  Please bear with us until then.

  • Hi,

    For parameter 3-7 all of those "AHCLKR/X" references should refer to ACLKR/X.  These parameters don't have anything to do with AHCLK; they have to do with ACLK and whether ACLKX/R is an input, output, etc.

    At some point the "look" of these tables got updated to have that sub-column with the AHCLK references, and I think a typo just got replicated.
