AM625: Inquiry regarding Linux boot binaries and SMPK signing on AM625

Hello TI Support Team,

I am currently trying to boot Linux on the AM625. My goal is to boot using an image signed by the SMPK, without encryption.

I am looking for a tutorial or documentation on how to build the necessary boot binaries for this configuration, but I have not been able to find the right resources.

Could you please point me to the relevant guide or provide a URL?

Hello,

The signing procedure is integrated in the U-Boot build itself so you only need to replace the default key in the U-Boot with your custom one. Please see if the following guide helps.

Thank you for your response. I understand that the signing procedure is integrated into the U-Boot build and that I need to replace the default key.

I have installed PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-AM62X version 12.00.00.07.04 under ~/ti/ti-processor-sdk-linux-am62xx-evm-12.00.00.07.04.

To clarify, could you please confirm if the specific file I need to replace with my custom key is the following?

~/ti/ti-processor-sdk-linux-am62xx-evm-12.00.00.07.04/board-support/ti-u-boot-2026.01+git/arch/arm/mach-k3/keys/custMpk.key

If this is not the correct path or if there are any other key files that also need to be replaced, please let me know.

This is the correct path.

Additionally, you would need to generate the "*.crt" file as well as outlined here
