TDA4VEN-Q1: test MCU1_0 firmware update via visionapps by replacing the binary file

Hi experts,

I would like to test the MCU1_0 firmware update status within visionapps by updating the firmware.

However, after executing the command ls -l /lib/firmware/, the j722s-mcu-r5f0_0-fw file is not listed or shown in the directory.

Could you please guide me on how to properly test MCU1_0 by replacing its binary file under this circumstance? What are the correct steps or workarounds to achieve this?

Hi Alice,

mcu1_0 firmware is loaded by the r5f spl code in uboot boot flow, so you have to rebuilt the tispl.bin and u-boot.img file and copy it to boot/ directory in sd card.

And do note that in j722s mcu1_0 is the wkup domain r5f core, not the actual mcu domain r5f core.

Also you will need linux sdk and give the path inside,
$(psdkra)/sdk_builder/tools_path.mak

Then rebuild the sdk, this should update the tispl.bin u-boot.img file inside $(psdkra)/bootfs
