F29H850TU: F29H850TU Bootloader - Getting Started

Part Number: F29H850TU

Hello,

I am currently digging into the bootloader options of the F29H850TU targeting firmware update via UART and CAN.

The technical reference manual mentions these boot modes. However, I got a bit lost regarding the exact communication protocol and how this is intended to be used in practice.

Some specific questions:

General, Documentation:
- Is there additional documentation describing the UART and CAN bootloader protocols in detail (packet format, commands, handshake, etc.)?
- Are there application notes or examples specifically for firmware update via UART/CAN for the F29h850TU?

Tools, Ready-to-use solutions:
- Are there ready-to-use host tools (e.g. PC applications or scripts) for UART and/or CAN firmware download?

Boot ROM usage:
- Is the integrated Boot ROM bootloader intended for production/in-field firmware updates, or mainly for development/programming?
- Are there any limitations (e.g. performance, robustness, error handling) compared to implementing a custom bootloader?
- Is it supported and recommended to jump from a running application into the Boot ROM bootloader?
- Is the UART/CAN bootloader protocol fixed and version-stable, or can it change between device revisions?

Security / HSM interaction:
- Is it possible to use UART/CAN bootloader together with secure boot for in-field updates?
- How does the HSM interact with the bootloader?

Thank you very much for your support.
