TMS320C5504 Maximum Frequency on CLKIN

In para. 6.4.2 of document SPRS659E, the maximum frequency at CLKIN is stated as 24 MHz.

Can the CLKIN frequency be higher than 24 MHz? What is the maximum CLKIN frequency?

Hi,

It depends on what boot mode are you planning for. The maximum CLKIN frequency supported is 100MHz if you are not considering boot mode.

From the data sheet, the CLKIN can be one of these options: 11.2896 MHz, 12.0 MHz, or 12.288 MHz or use the 32kHz.

The maximum DSP Frequency is part dependant; 100MHz ,120MHz ,150MHz.

Is it possible to have a 100Mhz CLKIN and use PLL bypass? What modes can you use to boot, nor flash?

It's highly possible to work with nor boot with external 100MHz CLKIN.
