I have to design an audio interface on a AM335x based new board. Target is to have speaker output and microphone input. Line-in may be fine, but is just an option.
Is it possible to connect AC'97 compatible codecs to the McASP interface? The description of pin functions suggests this, but I can not find a definitive statement about that. In particular the spruh73c Technical Reference Manual neither mentions AC97 nor AC'97.
If such a connection is possible, are there any basic schematics demonstrating how to do this?
If this is not possible, I'd like to find other solutions. EVM schematics for General Purpose Daughterboard (Rev 1.1A) connect a TLV320AIC3106 to an Altera EPM2210F32. This does not explain very much about that function.
Any insight would be very helpful.
